I tried, I really tried, with the Jackalope Mother as my witness I tried, but I wasn't equal to the task and my goddamned cantankerousness ruined it like it ruins everything. I'm sorry. I'll probably be sorry for the rest of my life. ;____;

@zebratron2084 hon... excavations are still ongoing, and you've brought so much light to so many people--you haven't ruined it. you're having to live through a version of "death of the author" that is one of the painful hallmarks of *truly* successful creation. your kid is going through a rebellious "I HATE YOU, PARENT" phase, which is always obnoxious and not always resolvable to the parent's satisfaction...

@zebratron2084 but even if you become estranged completely from your progeny, you'll always be able to watch its progress out in the world and know that you had a hand in creating that, for ill and good. every successful creation is a mixed blessing. *hugs*

@green I have to admit that watching the kids whoop it up under the PF banner still gives me a lot of compersive joy. I just... feel like I gotta watch it from a court-mandated minimum 500 meters for a while, after this year, you know?
