I remember cheering the rovers on when they landed, and every day over 90 going, "Woo, an extra day!" Somewhere along the line I lost track of how many, and forgot that little rover just trucking away up there. Every time I remembered, though, it brought a little smile to my face, and I'll miss those, and it, terribly. I honestly wish they'd named it Dreams, because it exceeded ours by so, so many. I only hope I live to see the day we being it home. (Or the day we come home to it.)

Also, holy shit I did not expect writing that to bring out this many tears, but I am fucking sobbing now.

The sheer amount of favorites and boosts this is getting is making me cry even harder, because I know all the of us are grieving for our friend.

And no, I don't care that it's just a lump of aluminum and silicon, or slower than our old PCs. It's the realization of a dream and a hope we sent to the stars, and I want us to be the stupid idiots who do that again, and who love them, even if it makes no earthly sense we do.
