This is also good advice for vehicle batteries, which are similarly expensive
@ThatDamnCat Yeah I had that problem when it dropped to -20F in Colorado one time. Mine was old and did not like that cold of a crank.
@ThatDamnCat yeah especially radiated heat from the road. Someone else also told me batteries die really fast in arizona and tires just melt away

When I crossed from Nevada into Arizona in 2015, the vehicle in front of me had a blowout at 70mph. FOrtunately it was a rear tire, but I'm sure the 114 temp contributed.
I pay very close attention to my tire pressure while driving in hot/cold conditions and adjust air pressure as necessary
