Yes I watch every video she makes. Still. I try to like them. I try.
Bluntly, she's advertising to the kind of boys that would have included me if I'd not transitioned. I hate that but it's something to keep in mind.
That being said, she doesn't care about the damager her statements cause outside of that, and her persona demands she not or else she'd loose cred with the target she's got.

Don’t chase her off the internet or try to destroy her channel or whatever... recognizing some of the good in what she does, and the inherent risks/challenges of her visibility, but also... don’t let her bullshit go uncriticized, either, from our end.

@AzureHusky @Draekos quite some time ago i took the “leave contra alone!” approach, like early on in her popularity climb. I’m sure it’s not easy to do what she does, so visibly. But since then, she’s said some stuff that is really personally hurtful and invalidating to me and others, trying to appeal this wider audience of mostly white cis people who want trans issues to be simplistic and easy to digest.

My take on Contrapoints: she's not talking to us anymore, she's talking to the TERFs and non-trans among us about trans issues. She took the full course and opted to try to teach Trans 101 to assholes.
The only way to talk to those folks is to speak to them at their level. Just seeing someone like her stoop to that level, even as a performance, is hard to watch. It feels like losing an ally every time. So I don't watch her videos anymore. :x

She's a piece of shit gatekeeper, doing some really hard, stressful and very needed work for people who do need it.
There isn't a cultural alternative to toxic masculinity and until there is we need this shitty bandage to help stop some of the bleeding.
