THE FUTURE!
I'll be undergoing a treatment for depression called deep transcranial magnetic stimulation (deep TMS) that has a reasonable chance of working where pharmaceutical means have failed. It works by pulsing a strong magnet at the right part of my head to coax things to start working right.
BUT IT'S THE SHADOWRUN FUTURE!
This all relies on my insurance company deciding to pay for it and not trying to reject it because of cannabis use in a state where it's legal. No, really.
FUTUUUUUU—
@emanate Ennh, don't be. If my health insurance provider decides it's okay with them for me to be healthy, then I get a couple months of daily treatments that taper down to once or twice a week in the following months. Even if the first round works – efficacy is solid, but only among half or fewer of patients – remission is nowhere near guaranteed, and it might still mean regular treatments after that.
The only reason I'm trying this is that everything else has utimately failed.
