Carnival and Mardi Gras are
@Felthry I don't even know if carnival is the same as the German Karneval
@noiob I have no idea either! When you mentioned it the other day we just assumed it was the same as the Brazilian Carnival
@Felthry uh yeah probably not
@noiob according to wikipedia it is, in fact!
@noiob wikipedia also says that mardi gras is the same holiday too though and we disagree with that even if it's on the same day and celebrates the same thing (namely "let's eat a lot of stuff before the fasting season starts")
@Felthry well yeah but other than that premise I doubt that the two have a lot in common, though I admittedly don't know much about Brazilian carnival, I should read up on that first (but not now I gotta sleep 😄)
@Felthry awww :(
(we specifically didn't vote because we wanted a higher percentage to be /not/ "See results"...)

@Felthry no shrove Tuesday?
@a_breakin_glass I haven't heard of that one!
@Felthry yeah, it's in the same "technically the same as mardi gras" bracket
@a_breakin_glass *looks up the definition of shrove* "the past tense of shrive" ah yes that helps a lot, what the hell does shrive mean
redrafted *again* to make the "i have not heard of..." options separate
