hey @monorail i was wanting to look into this replacement nintendo wifi thing for wii (and maybe also ds?) that you were talking about; do you have a link to it?

you'll have to patch whatever games you want to play so they know to look at that server instead of the old nintendo ones
@monorail oh you can't just change some dns settings? that's a bit of a disappointment, we'll need to hack the wii then
@noiob @monorail yeah kinda want to do that
we have a bit of an aversion to it that we need to get past since we hacked our first wii not long after we got it, and then later the disc drive in it broke and when we sent it in to nintendo for repairs they sent it back unrepaired with a note saying that "unauthorized modifications" had caused the problem and so they wouldn't fix it (which we know is complete nonsense but still)
@Felthry apparently there are other internal settings regarding how it connects that have to be changed, but i don't know the technical details unfortunately
