@Felthry The PS5 is backwards compatible, so if you expect to want a reasonable number of PS5-exclusive games that's what I'd recommend.
@KamareDrache i can't say we're even aware of any ps5-only games

@KamareDrache i guess the question is more, how much does the ps5 cost and how reliable is it (because we all know that launch edition consoles these days are bad--the x360's red ring of death, the ps4's notorious fan noise, etc), and are there any problems with it that would make the ps4 the better choice if you onyly want to play ps4 games
-F
@Felthry If you don't mind not having physical discs, you can get one for $399. I don't know anything about reliability, though. I won't be getting one til the new year.
@KamareDrache "not having physical disks" is 100% absolutely a complete dealbreaker for us
-F
@Felthry $499 then. Which is probably a heck of a lot more than you can get a PS4 for.
@KamareDrache seeing PS4s for about $300 on ebay
-F
@KamareDrache honestly the only ps4 exclusives we know of that we're that interested in are bloodborne and horizon zero dawn
-F
@Felthry Yeah, a PS5 probably isn't something you'd need to consider then.
@KamareDrache though we also don't plan on getting an xbox so anything that's on both xbox/ps might as well be a ps exclusive
-F
@Felthry An awful lot of XBox games are also on PC because of Microsoft. Not all, but a lot of them.
@KamareDrache we don't know of any ps5 ones at all, we've not found many modern games to be that enticing
