so why don't school buses have seat belts again?
like, wouldn't they be significantly safer if they did?
@violet seat belts are for when you rapidly decelerate (aka crash). The school bus will usually be way heavier than the thing it crashes into so it'll decelerate slower, thus being less deadly
also they don't drive on like, fast roads, right? at least over here buses that drive on the Autobahn have to have seatbelts
@noiob huh, yeah, that looks like the reasoning that's applied.
they do tend to have seat belts if they go on the highway too, so looks like you've got it all figured out.
@violet another thing that helps in a crash is having room to decelerate your head, which is why modern cars' windshields are much further away from people's faces
