physical health (negative)

A friend mentioned that dissociation is good at masking pain, equivalent to a low dose of opioids. I'm pretty much permanently in a partially dissociated state because it's the only way I have to deal with the dysphoria, so I decided to check on how much pain I'm masking on a regular basis.

Turns out it's a lot. Anything below a 6 on my personal pain scale just does not register. And so I have no idea how long my joints have been this fucked for.

@terrana Oh dear. I'd say you should probably see a doctor about it, but I suspect you already know that.

@Felthry Yeah. I'm trying to figure out what I'll need to say in order to be taken seriously. It's a daunting challenge.

re: physical health (negative)

@terrana Some amount of the truth, probably. I think something along the lines of "I was talking to a friend and discovered that this isn't normal" might work. Only, worded better.

@Felthry @terrana Oh gosh. Yeah, something like that, maybe mixed with an "I realized I had gotten used to a lot of these pains" might explain it.

Good luck. I hope there's help they can offer.
