okay we are trying to play final fantasy stranger of paradise, but we play all our pc games using a steam link, and this has worked fine in the past by just adding things as non-steam games to steam, but when we try to do that with stranger of paradise it pops up several warning/error messages in japanese and just exits

does anyone know what's going on or how to fix it

@Felthry record the error messages and throw them into Google translate?

@Felthry also did you add the Epic launcher to steam or the game executable itself? good chance it only launches through Epic because of the way their DRM works

@noiob The game executable, which has worked for everything before but it's looking like we might need to figure out a way to defeat the DRM or something then
-F

@Felthry just launch epic and then launch the game from there

@noiob does the epic games launcher support controller input? and will the steam link properly switch the window it's displaying? why am i asking you this instead of just trying it and finding out?
-F

@noiob the answers are:
- i don't know it breaks for other reasons (none of it renders to the streamed view???) but i can bypass it by using the mouse at the computer
- yes
- i don't know

-F

@Felthry anyways having to do stuff at the computer once is probably better than it not working at all

@Felthry I mean there's ways around not having a mouse (assuming non-steam controllers can use the steam button chords feature?) but tbh I don't have a steam link or sop:ffo so I couldn't tell you

@noiob the bigger problem is that literally nothing in the window renders on the steam link, it just displays as a blank window even though it renders fine on the computer
