Fuck, they're rolling back the restrictions on carbon emissions that the Obama administration passed. Why. Why is caring about the continued habitability of this planet we're all stuck on a political issue now?
us politics
@yatchi I really wish people with money would actually use that money for something positive instead of hoarding it and not using it for anything but convincing people to give them more money
us politics
@yatchi Even if they kept like 90% of their money think how much of a change that could make
and realistically the people with that much money could easily give away upwards of 90% of it with no problem
us politics
@yatchi Yeah, I understand that, just... It frustrates me, that people hoard money and do nothing useful with it, in the present society where money is the only way to get useful things done
politics
@Felthry Don't worry, that's not specifics to US politics. :/
us politics
@Felthry Likely because the ones that will pursue political positions are the ones that believe they can hold the responsibility of such a position. The ones that are kind will view it as a large responsibility, and hesitate to take it. Conversely those that are greedy probably don't view it as a responsibility at all, just a means of getting power for themselves.

@salameleon anyone who puts profit ahead of other people's health or the continued habitability of the planet deserves a punch to the face as far as I'm concerned
us politics
why is politics just a mess of greedy idiots who don't care about anyone but themselves and can't make rational decisions taking into account long-term consequences?
