you know what would be pretty neat

not just zelda games where you play as zelda, but is there really any reason that the one with the triforce of power has to be the bad guy? what if we get a good ganondorf teaming up with zelda to fight an evil link, or link and ganondorf against a corrupt zelda

(okay a corrupt zelda would be a little less fitting with the game's overall story)

@Felthry I think it could be fitting if you do it right. Like if the resolution is that Zelda breaks free of corruption if her corrupted form is defeated.

Freeing the main antagonist from themself is a pretty useful story trope.

skyward sword spoilers

@FreyaManibrandr I kinda feel like the fact that zelda is a literal mortal incarnation of the goddess hylia, who the games make out to be the paragon of all that is good, might make that a little difficult to fit into existing canon

Link's "spirit of the hero" doesn't actually say it has to reincarnate into another Link, though, as far as i'm aware, and nothing about demise's curse suggests that ganon(dorf) has to be the bad guy (in fact, after ganondorf is killed in wind waker, Malladus seems to be the new incarnation of demise's hatred)

@Felthry It is challenging, but not impossible. But I do like the idea of Link and Ganon swapping places

re: skyward sword spoilers

@FreyaManibrandr Yeah, you can do "light is not good" pretty well if you know what you're doing. The character who wants everything to be *right* according to their morals, and overly harshly punishes those who don't follow those morals, or the character who puts more stock in following the law than in being a good person.
