I will *probably* not use the Boss Monster cards for oracular work. I *should not* run it as a workshop at PantheaCon.
@zebratron2084 @Leucrotta you keep mentioning patheocon??
👀🤔
longish explanation
@lugh @zebratron2084 https://pantheacon.com/wordpress/ is a Bay Area convention in February, about multiple faiths and magic practice. Most events are rituals and workshops which are always a mixed batch - you'll get really fluffy crystal gazing neopaganism, ultra scholarly Golden Dawn stuff, and everything in between. There's usually only one dance - but yes, that's technically a ritual!
A lot of groups will have their own hotel suite as a place to host their own events and talk to the "public" of the con (f'rex you might want to take advantage of having that many Asatru in the same place to have a Thorsblot without, say, everyone at the con deciding this is a great way to score free mead; or you might want to tell outsiders that yeah, people actually do worship the Vanir in this day and age, as a real thing, and here's how).
It's actually a really good con to staff. A lot of staff work other cons or know each other from Ren Faire. With a tiny stint in programming, I worked in the convention's Hospitality Suite for years. I make fun of it a lot, but there's a lot to like about the convention.
The bad news; like any place with a lot of older school feminists, there's some TERFs at the con - and it got bad enough that was part of why I stopped staffing (the rest was that I just wasn't as into the con any more, and a friend who used to show up regularly couldn't afford to any more).
