Ugh I’ve been feeling that way too, I am so not into vore and it is so ubiquitous.
@Veladynee @anthracite aside from groaning at the puns; it's not a squick for me, it's just there. When I think about it, I think that fits into the way I'm some odd variety of gray ace.
Having grown up with "you are bad and wrong for not liking X thing that everyone likes," there's always a part of my response to "everyone seems to like X" which is "what's wrong with me that I don't like X?"
response got sort of long
@kistaro there's the thing where people place value judgments on popular stuff; "Everyone else likes X, but I don't like X. The simple and dualistic way to view things are either that I'm fundamentally flawed, or X is objectively bad." I don't have a particularly robust sense of self worth, and "X is objectively bad" is a gross way to look at the world (even though I *do* indulge in that sometimes), and not really applicable here (vore isn't gross or objectionable to me).
Maybe it's just that my response to "X is popular, I don't like X, and I now am trying to figure out where to go emotionally with that now that I'm not going the dualism route."
same, I am not repulsed by vore the way I am repulsed by, say, excrement play, I just... am unmoved. Your Kink Is Not My Kink But Your Kink Is Okay, But I Am Kind Of Tired Of How Ubiquitous Your Kink Has Become Lately In This Fandom.
This too shall pass, I suppose. *shrug*
@Leucrotta @Veladynee @anthracite As someone who is really into it you absolutely do /not/ have to be really into it and there is nothing wrong with you!
@Leucrotta @Veladynee @anthracite ...heck, a bunch of other people's kinks are /flat-out triggers/ for me. Just not liking one? Totally normal.
I mean.
I don't like /sex/. :3
@Leucrotta @Veladynee @anthracite
I mean, I don't think I'm likely to be convinced that there is something odd or unusual about *not* wanting to eat your friends alive.
