hmmm. hey @Leucrotta, I just realized we can probably make casseroles in our toaster oven!
It's just "dump things in pan, bake", right?
what's the easiest simplest casserole we could do? Got any good recipes?
@frost Honestly I *don't* - the biggest time I made casserole was with Anaheim chillis, and that's a bit energy intensive. I know there are toaster oven focused recipes and cookbooks out there, poke some at that?
@Leucrotta Haah, heh!
That sounds like a good idea. I'm also tempted to try tuna noodle casserole, it looks fairly simple, but it looks like the pasta would need to be cooked first. And anything that uses a can of cream-of soup would probably have awkward ratios with toaster oven downscaling. So a toaster oven focused recipe sounds like the way to go!
@Leucrotta We have obtained an 8x8 pan (metal, since it was impossible to find 8x8 ceramic/stoneware...), and are on the way home with tuna noodle casserole makings!
@Leucrotta Target actually HAS an 8x8... in a set with a 5x5, costing $20. Didn't want to spend quite that much. And it was actually slightly larger than 8x8, I don't have precise measurements to know if it'd fit.
@Leucrotta Thanks! =^.^=
If our other baking mishaps are any indication, it probably won't... then again, I bet a casserole is way less fussy than a cake or a pie. It'll still cook fine if it's 25 degrees off or takes 10 minutes too long in the oven.
