paying bills, raising family, exploring yourself, having hobbies & social life are legit reasons not to pay attention.
Theoretically we have a government so we can NOT pay attention and focus on important personal stuff instead.
Including political concerns in our personal work is inevitable but not ideal. A situation in which we have to choose anger over the personally relevant in order to defend it is INCREDIBLY dysfunctional.
