We were thinking just a minute ago about dysphoria and wanted to say this:
To all you trans women out there: You look like a woman by definition, because you're a woman and you look like yourself.
To all the trans men out there:
You look like a man by definition, because you're a man and you look like yourself.
To all the enbies and people of other genders out there: You look like someone of your gender by definition, because it's your gender and you look like yourself.
@Rosemary It can get tricky for enbies, since there's no standard presentation, and we have to make it up as we go. Which also means there's no real way to be directly recognized as enby.
But at the same time, that's incredibly freeing for us. :-)
You might not be happy with your appearance, and that's okay! You can work to change it, on your own time, when you're comfortable doing so. But your appearance doesn't make you any less the gender you are, regardless of whether it lines up with what people expect people of your gender to look like or not.
