Had a wonderful conversation with said beautiful cousin about paths to teaching... I actually think I can do this! She recommended starting by working as an IA (Instructional Assistant) to get my foot in the door and see if I like the classroom environment. And a qualify for one of those positions! So I'm excited and ready to finally move on from my shelver job... :D

This is how my mom and most teachers start. Think it's actually a requirement for certified teachers.

I've found most often that the kids in classes with a TA do better and are happier in class. I hope you enjoy it, too!

I don't believe it's a requirement for certified teachers in CA, but it is recommended (and many programs involve similar practical experience).

I hope so, too! I've enjoyed the times in the past that I've taught classes or worked as a tutor, and this seems similar. Either way I'm excited to be moving forward.

... Just gotta update this dang resume, haha.
