My uber driver reminded me to maintain my batteries for my drone as we discussed other ones and his. Its slightly important since they're fucking $150 each.

@Daxarhagron

This is also good advice for vehicle batteries, which are similarly expensive

@ThatDamnCat Yeah I had that problem when it dropped to -20F in Colorado one time. Mine was old and did not like that cold of a crank.

My SUV hasn't had a temp below 17F so far but I can imagine that would blow.

My SUV has the battery in a chamber within the passenger compartment, behind the passenger seat, so there's less environmental impact, but that temp would always be rough.

@ThatDamnCat yeah especially radiated heat from the road. Someone else also told me batteries die really fast in arizona and tires just melt away

@Daxarhagron

When I crossed from Nevada into Arizona in 2015, the vehicle in front of me had a blowout at 70mph. FOrtunately it was a rear tire, but I'm sure the 114 temp contributed.

I pay very close attention to my tire pressure while driving in hot/cold conditions and adjust air pressure as necessary
