Seattle is the first big city in which I've lived where random strangers will sometimes strike up a pleasant friendly conversation with you just because they noticed you share something in common. Two strangers sharing a smile in a crowd-- and by so doing, spreading that smile to those who overhear their conversation.

I have never felt more at home anywhere in the world. ♥️ ♥️ ♥️

@mawr It's funny, I used to hear people talk about the "Seattle Freeze", some general trend of people being standoffish and aloof. I haven't really experienced that, at least not in levels enough to have a city-based nickname. 0.o

@emanate @mawr Well, not to nitpick, but I believe the stereotype is more like "will be extremely friendly and sociable to you in a casual meeting, will promise you the world and treat you like a long-lost sibling... and then you'll never ever ever hear from them again."

Personally, I believe in it and it's one of the things that really makes Seattle work for me. :)
