Some good news this morning:

Washington state is now also allowing changing a birth certificate to "X" instead of M or F!

I got an email about it just this morning. :-)

@memnus Hopefully soon! I want to change mine, but I have to wait before I can change BC since I was born in California.

@emanate yeah, I was born in Virginia, I'm not particularly optimistic about being able to change it any time soon

@emanate oh wait... I was born in Virginia. so... no. :/ maybe WA will let me change it on my driver's license... someday...

@green Yeah. Sorry, shoulda been more clear there. It /is/ a very positive step /towards/ licenses. :-)

@emanate @green The way to make it nationwide is most likely going to be to volley the problem back and forth between state and federal court systems a few times. Last I knew there was a case pending where an intersex person from CA whose drivers' license now has an X is trying to compel the State Dpt. to change their passport to match. Passport can be used to change docs in other states.
