dear Marvel readers: where does the prophecy of Ragnarok come from? is there a Marvel comic universe/Norse mythology oracle? I believe in Norse mythology there's--pools in Yggdrasil's roots that give visions, guarded or used by....the Fates or the Norns, I don't remember what they're called. BUT I DUNNO
@green in the real story, Odin raises a seer from the dead and she tells him the whole story of existence from start to end.
@green in comics it's a death/rebirth cycle caused by a higher order of beings. Thor hacks and breaks the system with Loki's help.
@electricplatypus @Fuego @emanate @Aradia@mastodon.social hmm. that's what I get for asking a question from my phone, heh. what I need to know is more... whether there's prophecies, oracles, soothsayers, whatever, in the Marvel comic universe, if they ever show the origins of prophecies. not about Ragnarok specifically, that was an example I knew existed, but more in general.
.... and now I can't remember why I was asking that question. DAMMIT. /headdesk
@green
Apparently in Marvel continuity Ragnarok is a cycle, which was broken eventually by Thor. Interesting stuff.

There's also the Norns, with a similarly dark sort of bent to them.
