hey kids let’s bag on the Bay Area (sui mention)
When I first came to the Bay Area it was fucking magical, but this place is in the dictionary next to the word “banal.” I’m tired of being a walk on extra in someone else’s fap fantasy. It looks increasingly likely I’ll leave via a knife and a sink full of hot water but I’d way rather move to Portland.

@Leucrotta I personally very much hope you move than the alternative. :/ *gentle nosetouch and hugs offered*

@green thanks. Just I went to the beach and it kicked off a batch of thoughts. I love love love the beaches and forests here, but it’s a little like all the forests and mountains I liked in Georgia.

@Leucrotta oh yeah, I know that feeling. like going to Humboldt, and being reminded of how amazing the redwoods and ocean and weather is, and then... the people. and the stuff they build. and the economy. and the grubbiness. >____< and there's people doing good things, making art, making change, but... ugh.

@emanate @Leucrotta *nod* I did elementary school in San Jose, then about 3-4 years when I turned 20 in Oakland. so yeah... I definitely grok. :/

@green @emanate @Leucrotta I was in Livermore, which avoided most of the Silicone Valley craziness, but became a sort of bedroom community for such anyway.
Still wonder how different I would have been if my family stayed in Pacifica after I was born. :-/
