@KawaSeadrake @Finfell@dragon.style The only reasonable argument against it I’ve seen lately is “we don’t want to cancel unemployment insurance for refusing work as a prostitute”, but I think this is solvable in the short term by “exempt sex work from the ‘must accept any work offered’ rule” and in the long term by replacing unemployment insurance (basic income for people who once had income) with real universal basic income.

@Kistaro @KawaSeadrake @Finfell How does that rule currently apply to, say, an unemployed person approached by a porn studio or a strip club?

@green @Finfell @KawaSeadrake @Kistaro Initial searching indicates that 'what kinds of job are you required to take if offered, or lose unemployment?' is a state-by-state mess.
It's a lot more clear-cut for prostitution, because one can make a solid argument from (a) not previously having worked in the field, (b) unpredictable working hours (demand can fluctuate wildly in any particular region), and (c) STI's are a risk no other job has, and condoms are good-but-imperfect.
