@noiob because the games cost £70 now because they cost too much to make because previous entries sold well so the new ones have to cost more and also you can't buy a PS5 and this will go well for sony... somehow !
@kyra well even if I could buy a PS5 I would need an extra room to set it up
@noiob it's weird how big they are compared to the series X, which has almost exactly the same components. It's the size of 2 Wiis. The PS5 is closer in size to my desktop PC?
@noiob it's not like it's for thermal reasons, the series x barely gets warm. Maybe it's because the series X is a chimney which is a fairly proven thermal design, whereas the PS5 is a weird shape and thus needs a more complex cooling setup
@kyra I mean the PS5 is kinda also one? between those two sheets of plastic it's basically all open to move air
@noiob huh.
either way I miss the days when sony would give you a box with an LED on it. These weird curvy things aren't very practical for stacking or general placement. I though they learned their lesson after the PS3
@kyra the PS2 fat was the perfect form factor
@kyra oh and the Xbox works sideways, so
@noiob can you not put the PS5 on it's side? I though it had a stand or something for that so it doesn't roll around like a loose egg
@kyra yeah, but like, it wouldn't be a chimney sideways
@noiob I mean it has a blower fan in there. The xbox works fine on it's side for the same reason. Obv having it upright lets physics do some of the work
@noiob anyway I guess what I'm saying is it's funny that the PS5 looks like a dracula but it's not the best decision for an object that's meant to stick around for 5-10 years
@kyra eh they'll make a slim version that's more reasonable sooner or later
@kyra I mean the reason is that it will probably make them more than that
