Is "carbon-based organic" an identity?
Is "human" an identity?
If these are, then we must allow for people who possess either, neither, or both in our dialogues. Whether or not they are capable of being the things with which they identify, we must accept that they exist and are part of our worldview.
If these are not, then aren't we tacitly asserting that self-aware existences outside of these are not possible, or at least, not worthy of consideration as people?
@Fuego "Twelve bunis approximates a people" is a very common saying around here. I am not a people. I pretend very well and fool most casual observers, but I'm very clearly not and have no real desire to be.
