@starkatt Video game music:
You haven't played Talos Principle yet. This isn't a spoiler, not really, but it is music from late in the game: False God.
... can't even type the reference without crying.
@starkatt This one's just funny, 'cause the person who wrote it wanted to write a song mocking everything he hated in EDM and pop music, and ended up writing a really good pop EDM song.
World of Goo's "Red Carpet Extend-O-Matic"
@starkatt Here's a little more modern, but got a lot of 80s synth to it: Shatter. As always, gotta share the ice-themed level first, but the whole soundtrack is gorgeous: Freon Station.
@literorrery You seem to have pasted the wrong link
@starkatt I did! And I gave it the wrong name. It's "Freon World."
@starkatt It's old work, grant you, but knowing a lot of what Tim gets up to later, it's good to go back and hear echoes of his later development in his early work.
Here's another oldie-but-goodie I love sharing: Cave Story. And for once, I'm _not_ sharing On to Grasstown, which is gorgeous but the track everyone seems to rave about besides the opening. Gestation's slow, elegant, and a little melancholy. One of my favorites from the OST.
@literorrery I'm taking a break and will catch up on all those in a bit.
@starkatt Last for today: Xenosaga's Last Battle. I love this one mostly because it's so _different_ from what the game sets you up to expect. Everything to this point has been sweeping power-orchestra and throbbing vocals and thunderous chords and this... is a comparatively light little thing for taking out the animate spirit of a space station's reactor core.
