Trying to Build a Mastodon Instance

I tried to make a test instance of Mastodon today and I learned a lot from the process.

One of the things I learned today is that Docker makes hard things easy and easy things really hard. Adding Docker to the stack of things I need to learn will complicate things too much IMHO, so I'm gonna just install Mastodon without Docker and see how that goes, next time.

Tonight tho, it's SPLAT TIME :D

@mawr FYI, I've tried out Proxmox VE as a virtualization solution lately at work, and I really like it. Debian 9 based, and supports ZFS for storage and CEPH for clustering!

@mawr I don't know. D: I think the idea is that you use Docker instead of VMs because transferring VMs takes a while. (And containers are a lot lighter weight.)
