yay! found the secret room in Celeste where they allow you to play the entire Pico-8 version of the game, it's so great

I wonder if this would run any Pico-8 game. Having Pico-8 on the Switch would be pretty cool

@noiob i was completely blindsided by that!

i mean, i giggled when i first saw the icon on the computer since i like making things in pico-8, and definitely perused celeste--so i thought it was just a little easter egg only some people would get

but that turned very quickly into an "OH GOSH YOU CAN ACTUALLY PLAY THIS! WHAT??"

@thingywott I knew it was there, and I actually played the Pico-8 version ages ago (but not very far), but I still didn't expect to run into it at this point

yeah I feel like I'd be stunned had I not known about it before

@noiob oh yeah! and because of that, i actually played more of it there than i did on pico-8 proper

and since a lot of the mechanics are so different between the two, i also discovered that if i play one, it takes a little bit of time for me to not be Very Bad at the other again

@thingywott oh! I felt like having played a buncha new Celeste made me suck a lot less at old Celeste (but I only played old Celeste on a keyboard anyways, I'm sure that made me suck at it even more)

I'm actually trying to finish old Celeste now, if I can 😄

@noiob good luck! it gets pretty brutal

i won't spoil anything, but i made it a few stages after a shift in the aesthetics of the game--and oh gosh, some stages are just *mean*

@thingywott I'm stuck at 1600 (or close, see pic) trying to get from "I know what I have to do" to "I can actually do all the inputs in a precise enough way to beat this part"

@thingywott honestly I thought it'd be easier, a friend who's way better at 2d platforming had it beaten in a reasonable time
