@Tanuki there's barely even eReaders yet, I doubt there's much of a market for a single-purpose device considering the price of color eInk panels

@Tanuki well, I'm running one of these but it really can only do 7 colors, so not everything will look good on it and it'll usually have a lot of dithering. But if you're okay with that you only need a Raspberry Pi Zero and Pimoroni's Python library to make it display images shop.pimoroni.com/products/ink

@Tanuki no ready-made solutions yet though afaik. This kind of eInk has like 20-30s refresh times so it's not useable for say, an eReader

@Tanuki the technology can do shading already but I assume the driver for that would be a lot more expensive so they didn't go for that

@Tanuki yeah though text rendering won't look super smooth like on a grayscale calendar, for instance. Mine's showing a Home Assistant dashboard
