computers, heat, personal realization
I didn't realize how much heat comes from computers.
I thought most of my 650w would go into processing... although gosh maybe it does and I'm highly under estimating the watt.
you hear a watt...or joule I forget which is the amount of energy to do Xyz... but it's honestly rather unintuitive.
re: computers, heat, personal realization
@LottieVixen every single of those watts becomes heat
re: computers, heat, personal realization
@noiob I don't understand if all of it goes to heat then how does work get done with it
re: computers, heat, personal realization
@LottieVixen energy can't be destroyed, just converted to a less useful form of energy (scientists say that the entropy of the system rises)
re: computers, heat, personal realization
@noiob I knew it couldn't be destroyed I just...never put the two together about what it means to use energy...
so using it is just turning it into heat or something that can't easily be used again as electricity
re: computers, heat, personal realization
@LottieVixen yeah 650 W is quite a bit of heat, that's a microwave on medium low
re: computers, heat, personal realization
@LottieVixen well, microwaves have their wattage specified usually so that's why I used it at an example bc light bulbs don't heat up that much anymore
re: computers, heat, personal realization
@noiob specified wattage though combined with medium low is just...
medium low on what wattage microwave and how would one feel the heat.. mew. sorry
just water definition is good from a numbers perspective just not for getting a feel for it
re: computers, heat, personal realization
@LottieVixen idk it'll heat up food pretty quickly
re: computers, heat, personal realization
@noiob I'm sorry my issue was with abstraction and you abstracted further from it adding more variables
re: computers, heat, personal realization
@LottieVixen yeah I get that, sorry
re: computers, heat, personal realization
@noiob mew...thank you and sorry I got mildly upset at further abstraction
re: computers, heat, personal realization
@noiob again this is unimaginable like the water example commonly used
also microwaves vary in power so medium low across them means different things
