Hm, this is a bit of film criticism that actually applies really well to tabletop RPGs as well: "fight scenes should advance the plot, otherwise they don't really mean much."

@starkatt In the tabletop rpg case, some people enjoy playing the game for the fight scenes, so they shouldn't have to advance the plot in a group full of people like that.
