Heck there's so many design decisions I appreciate about this game.
I love that there are no real weapons. The best things you can do are distract and run away.
I love that most predators won't actively hunt you down, but instead just take a nip or guard their territory.
I love that the game world isn't actually that dangerous, and fear is a bigger motivator than true danger.

Oh, neat. The decision to not put guns in Subnautica is explicitly a political one, largely in response to Sandy Hook.

Most of all, I love that progress in the game is measured by gaining knowledge about the world around you.
