my toolkit for flirting in japanese includes:
- (名前)は可愛いですよ
and that's about it. i mean, that's all i really do in english anyway and it seems to work
@typhlosion What does that translate to?
@Rosemary "(name) is cute, y'know"
i was gonna say きみ, which is a second-person pronoun, but i dont have quite a handle yet on when second-person pronouns are okay to use vs when they're considered kinda rude
@typhlosion How do you pronounce the kanji before koi?
@OchotonidKnight koi?
@typhlosion Is it pronounced "ai" here?
@OchotonidKnight i don't know which kanji you're referring to, im sorry
@typhlosion The last kanji in the phrase.
@OchotonidKnight 愛? it's part of 可愛い which is kawaii, so i guess it's just ai there
@typhlosion (To my knowledge) I have literally never seen "kawaii" written in kanji before. Literally always かわいい。
@typhlosion@awoo.space May I suggest adding ね to add a little je ne sais quoi
