@Kyoji @typhlosion yeah, like without social media, i as a person would have no motivation to draw art, and i wouldn't have discovered who i am as a person without social media
@EeveeEuphoria @Kyoji there are other ways to meet people though. if you met your best friend at a cult you both escaped from that doesn't mean the cult is worth keeping around
@typhlosion @Kyoji yeah, but i don't do well on one-to-one communication, and it's not like i live anywhere near anyone.
@EeveeEuphoria @Kyoji forums exist! there have been plenty of ways to publicly meet people that have existed long before twitter and facebook et al monopolized online society
@typhlosion @Kyoji the only forums i use are the fuckin SRB2 forums lmao, and they also introduce a swathe of problems for me in particular due to how i am as a person if it were to become my #1 form of communication.
i think a better take is that social media, as it stands and is carried out today, is a mistake.
it snowballed into a garbage fire, but its core conceit isn't a bad thing.
@Kyoji @EeveeEuphoria yeah, this
and fwiw i dont think masto is much better than twitter in the ways that really matter, personally
@EeveeEuphoria @Kyoji i dont want to talk about this anymore if thats ok
@typhlosion @EeveeEuphoria perfectly fine. sorry to intrude.
@typhlosion @Kyoji sure thing, sorry if i got a bit defensive about this, but i think you can understand why i was that way yeah?
