i love masto, but it turns out 500 characters aren't enough to described how borked things are with federation right now.
@confusedcharlot i suspect the problem is how bogged down mastodon.social is right now - if more people from there moved to other instances in the fediverse the problem might start going away
@typhlosion i'm not knowledgeable enough to know what's really going on, but it feels like something broke under heavy load that has yet to be fixed
