thoughts on being queer
i've been wrestling with some ideas about what it means to be queer lately and-
I feel it's a title that we as a non-cis/non-het community have reclaimed in order to create a sense of unity
I really like to use the term both because I have vague gender feelings (which resulted in nothing) but also because I want to feel closer to all the folks who don't identify as both cis and straight
thoughts on being queer
as far as being a measurement of "how much" it goes into, i don't think of queer as a term that cares about magnitude- it's an umbrella term i want to stand behind with folks to stand up and be proud of all of us together
I don't know of a better way to do that- and even if someone doesn't identify with being queer I still want to feel a sense of unity with them regardless of the term
LGBT+/QUILTBAG/is too much for me and this is the best I feel I have
thoughts on being queer
if you ever see me saying I'm queer- it's a statement of me telling you I am with all of you, regardless of if you're gay, trans, bi, agender, asexual, a lesbian, demisexual/gender, multi-gender, whatever
i want us to stick together
that doesn't mean we have to get along- but it means that when it comes down to it, we have each others' backs
thanks
