mental health gripe

ages ago I saw a thread that was intended to be read as something like "Mental illness might be difficult, but with hard work and maybe the right meds, you can have a worthwhile existence!"

And I parsed it as something like "With hard work and maybe the right life-long expenses, you can have 70% or less of what a neurotypical gets for free. And you should be *happy* with this deal!"

People got very angry at me for parsing it like that, and I can't say I exactly am okay with that even now.

I forgot to take my meds over the weekend and I'm kinda in an extremely volatile mood that feels like it validates my perspective on the thread.

I've often seen the line that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem, but really I think most other "solutions" to the things that drive people to suicide are the temporary patches.

If you have chronic depression, it's not like anything is really going to *cure* you. Just make it so you can claw through a day to see another.

not planning suicide for clarity, mostly just in a bad mood about how people approach things.

I'll chill back out when my meds kick back in, but damn am I kinda pissy at having to maintain this shit

@IrisKalmia My resentment towards the maintenance-meds routine increases when I've already missed a day, and it can make it difficult to even start again. Doubly-so if I need a refill around the same time; it becomes nearly impossible.
