Lou Dobbs thinks left wing resistance should be swept away? FINE, we’re even because I feel a government which isn’t serving its constituents is not fulfilling its paid obligation and if I were running the show we’d suspend Congressional pay and benefits and hold emergency elections.

@Leucrotta My main thought about the whole thing is "isn't it sort of a stupid idea to declare No Quarter Asked Or Given, when you're basically already a political minority holding sway over a group that outnumbers you 2:1?"
I can understand why some of our friends are panicking, because that is some pretty scary rhetoric, in or out of historical context. But man, does it sound like a desperation ploy to me-- not to mention, implicit permission to sweep away right-wing resistance the moment it becomes possible.

@zebratron2084 that of course is another danger of the shutdown; who’s to say the Dems can’t pull the same stunt to push stuff they want? I mean not that I’d probably hate the Dems forcing through Medicare or whatever, but it’s a terrible practice and I don’t think either party has a right to pull it.
