might as well do another hot take, grammar
RAS syndrome ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAS_syndrome ) is a heap of bullshit that's only of interest to pedants. Phrases like "RAS syndrome," "ATM machine," and "VIN number" add clarity, whereas "RA syndrome," "AT machine," and "VI number" lack a clear, common referent and are just awkward confusing.
There is NOTHING wrong with duplicating an initialized term, if it adds to language's main function: communication. (And not, like, your personal Rightness scorecard.) We can still be friends if you nitpick RAS syndromes, but I will secretly always be judging you. ;) ;) ;)
And if you don't like my opinjon, you can go read some "D Comics." Because after all, "DC" stands for "Detective Comics," and we wouldn't want to be Objectively Grammatically Wrong*, would we?
*Ask a linguist. This concept, too, mostly only exists in the minds of pedants. Usage. Is. Your. Only. God.
