re: linguistics, leftpol, headdesking / mic drop
@joshua Oh, yes, EKAT was a MAJOR influence when I was young and naive--the best thing it did for me is show me the flowchart of how a subculture can FAIL. I have to struggle sometimes to not see myself as essentially the Dis-Mount of the postfurry crowd. :|
re: linguistics, leftpol, headdesking / PF
@zebratron2084 oh shit I forgot about all this
If it’s any constellation (hehe) postfurry has inspired me and motivated me in a way that’s good for my soul, has given me peace of mind, and the thing (the word) to identify with
Also it started in San Jose? That’s where the deadhead cult started
It started in the bay? That’s where the pranksters started ![]()
re: linguistics, leftpol, headdesking / mic drop
@zebratron2084 the merry pranksters had a cult, and the kool aid they drank had acid- sort of their Dionysian mystery libation
And you already know all this, I’m just helping to put some points together
The merry pranksters kicked of the beginning of hippiedom, which today combined with deadheads- is still a cult
And one the person in question are probably participating in- drinking the kool aid in more ways than one
