I already know the answer to this, but... how the hell did we end up with an entire generation of Republicans that thinks "I'm rubber, you're glue" is a valid debate tactic and you can disprove a valid accusation just by telling the accuser they did it too, no matter what it is or how much you have to stretch the definition?
I really don't think the answer is
"not enough education," though. I think the answer is "because it consistently works, and who gives a fuck if it gets you any closer to the truth or not!?"

@zebratron2084 maybe the idea is to get the opponent to bow out of the discussion to fact check, or to appear upset, rather than directly about the discussion?
re: uspol, "debate"
@Leucrotta I think that's 100% part of it, yeah. Seemed to be the MO of the anti-furry trolls, who stil astound me how much the resembled today's TERFs and MAGAs in their willingness to weaponize bad faith.
uspol, "debate"
@zebratron2084 Severe lack of conseqvences, and lack of critical thinking to recognize their own mistakes as mistakes of their own doing.

@zebratron2084 They have thrown out truth, and meaning, because it does not make them rich and it does not make them powerful, so what use is it? At this point words are just funny sounds and you make whatever sounds will manipulate the marks around you to do things that will advance your goals. What those sounds might mean, or if they mean anything at all, is irrelevant.
