media, trivia, silly, nostalgia, challenge

$1,000 worth of no-prize to anyone who can identify the following quote:

"Archdukes, archduchesses... there were a lot of arch people!"

I know there's gotta be at least ONE other Gen-Xer whose brain that got stuck in.

(HINT: PBS.)

HINT 2: The line was spoken by a teenager.

HINT 3: The show it was spoken on is known for an EXCEPTIONALLY funky theme song.

HINT 4: Your parents' tax dollars funded it.

HINT 5: Easy Reader. That's my name. I said uh. Uh. Uh.

@zx3 @zebratron2084 nope did not stick. Probably because it didn’t go with a cartoon. For whatever reason the big things from the show that stayed in memory were almost all cartoons.

@Leucrotta @zx3 No, no, this was really Godlike difficulty level. It's a SUPER obscure Electric Company sketch-- the Short Circus specifically-- and that's the only line that stuck with me. There was very little reasonable expectation that anyone would get this. I have no clue why it stuck in my own head. I couldn't tell you a damn thing about the context.

@zx3 Yeah, I tipped my hand a little too much there. :D
