My boss-in-law just announced a geographic research challenge at work: find 10 ultra-obscure items on Streetview and report findings. There are no rewards and no prizes, just an opportunity to outscore the other annotators.

My favorite things found when doing the maps thing: a solar furnace power plant.
And a series of roads in a countryside that were half-vanished, along with a falling-apart set of stands. With some research I figured out that it was the site of a Grand Prix in the late 80s. :-D
