I just had a weird thought. I wonder if President Obama ever wonders if it wouldn't have been better for him never to have been president (or to have been single-term), if only to prevent Trump coming to power. (This thought brought on by Youtube suggesting ERB's Obama vs. Romney rap.)

@zetasyanthis Obama's smart enough to have thought of a batch of possibilities connected to him, so he's probably thought this at some point. But he's also incredibly self-confident, and I think dismissed that one fairly quickly - there are so many things that played into what happened that "reaction to a Black president charismatic enough to get away with anything really" is minor. And I don't think he doubts any of his *policy* decisions.

@Leucrotta Oh, yeah, I agree with those assessments, aside from the one about self-confidence. He does have that (anyone running for that office has to, really), but the one thing I've always liked about him is that he's actually human, and knows he's fail-able.
