This wave of self doubt slammed into me, set off by this book of awesome creature art. I’m trying to figure out if I can respond better than in the past.
@Leucrotta Hey. I've seen your art, and it's better than you know. If you're encountering something you think is better, think about how much progress you've made already, and try to be excited about how much you can still get better! <3
@zetasyanthis thanks! Part of responding better is this is a really strong reaction. That’s gotta be low blood sugar (I got breakfast but am still hungry) or childhood (likelier; may post about it later).
I know part of it is the fear of being stuck in dead end jobs like the current, and it puts lots of pressure on art as a “I do this kinda well, maybe it’s my way out of the trap?” Which means any technical skill stuff can really feel devastating.
