why does all this have to be happening now

it just feels really. bad

i don't know how to describe it but it feels like we're being abandoned i guess

because this is where we do social stuff. here, on fedi

and so many people are leaving. friends, and acquaintances, and just

we *cannot* use twitter. talking one-on-one is stressful. being in large discord/whatever servers is overwhelming. this is really the only option for us

and people we like talking to are leaving it

and i just. don't knwo what to do

Snouts going down seems like a huge loss to the fediverse because of how many folks they'd collected -- but a lot of those folks are migrating to other instances -- or maybe even creating their own!

This isn't the first time we've had a major instance crumble, but I think because of both the size and the beloved culture around this one, it's a lot harder to bare than others have been.
