Having a fun conversation in a Discord channel, someone pops in and starts talking about an encounter on the way to work with "some crazy off his meds" and repeatedly saying "I don't have time to deal with crazies today" and boy do I feel infinitely less welcome all of a sudden.

Capitalism has done an amazing job of convincing us that "freedom and equality" is both parents working full time to pay for childcare and house-care instead of each parent working half time and splitting the other work equitably.

I think a very important point this video makes is towards the end, and it's something I often see people on "our side" trying to do: the idea that 'we' should be trying to save these misguided people from themselves.

Yes, deradicalizing can work, but only in the right situation, at the right time, and generally only if you already know the person. It doesn't work consistently enough and isn't impactful enough in the grand scheme of things to be worth it.
