the only reason you can't make an #IndieModular Animal Crossing game is because 95% of the gameplay is literally just collecting and cataloging EVERYTHING THAT EXISTS. (the other 5% is quirky little minigames and unique seasonal displays, of course)

this noble goal understandably falls apart when the catalogue is literally an unlimited collection of user generated content of varying (generally low) quality.

a modular Pokémon game would face similar problems, but at least completing your Pokédex isn't the ONLY goal in the game.

The best quality of MUGEN is that it's modular by design: Every individual fighter is its own completely independent module.

If it were to expand that to entire systems, HUD, etc. that would only make it even better.

Let's try applying the same logic to every game, shall we? I'll call it #indiemodular
